Andrea McKerlie Luke started writing in kindergarten and never stopped. She published her first novel, Until We Meet Again, when she was fifteen, followed by Some Other Time in 2009. She is a graduate of Meredith College, where she majored in Music Performance and minored in Professional Writing & Presentation Media. She publishes under her maiden name of Andrea McKerlie, and can be found at AuthorHouse in paperback and e-book formats.
Andrea is a freelance musician who teaches flute lessons at her home studio. She is also an arts critic with CVNC; see her author page here. Although primarily a musician, Andrea tries not to go one day without writing something and keeps several journals handy at all times. She lives in North Carolina with her husband and cat.
She is inspired by Douglas Adams, JRR Tolkien, Stephen King, and Lois Lowry, as well as many others. Luke's other pastimes include hiking, playing video games, cross-stitching, and volunteering at a cat shelter. She feels so lucky to have the ability to make her living out of what have always been her two favorite hobbies: writing and making music.
Andrea likes to tell other writers to journal, write observations, and get outside. Many of her best ideas have come to her from long walks in nature, long car trips gazing out the window, and watching the people around her. Coffee shops can bring together some of the most interesting people, and there's no harm in jotting down some character portfolios!

Check back here frequently for excerpts from books, other bits of writing I'm trying out, and some of my favorite quotes. For now, take this with you.
"All that is gold does not glitter, / Not all those who wander are lost; /
the old that is strong does not wither, / deep roots are not reached by the frost."
- JRR Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
