Prequel!

Posted on August 5, 2007 at 3:44 PM

I am so excited about this prequel! The story is nearly through with my edits, and I've already let out a few sneak peeks of some of my favorite parts. These are, so far, a success! I really want this book to have more publicity than UWMA because, for one thing, I like this one better so far. It is a little bit more mature than the last, mainly because it is now coming from the mind of a centuries-old Elf--and because I'm not an eleven-year-old trying to copy successful books like Eragon, Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter.

I will be sending the book off to agent(s) and publisher(s) very soon--college prep and my AP class homework take up a lot of my writing time, so things have been dreadfully slow. Andrea who? Yeah, she wrote a book, right...? I can't remember, but I think I've read it...

I hope for this book to stand out in people's minds, and now I don't have the excuse of being an eleven-year-old writer anymore. I'm a sixteen-year-old who is expected to write very well. Do I? Well, that is less up to me than it is up to the readers who don't already know everything about the inside of my head--a very scary place I don't recommend visiting for too long of stretches at a time.

Noonie: "UWMA" is my abbreviation for Until We Meet Again, because I didn't want to have to type out "UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN" every time I was talking about my book, "UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN", because it takes a long time to type out "UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN", there being so many letters in "UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN".

Hey Andrea, I don't know how often you check your website but I decided to leave a comment anyways lol I am planning on buying your book to read it soon, you gave your website to me to take a look at when we met at UNCG Summer Music Camp '07. I was a french horn player and you played flute that year if I remember right. I decided to say something on your website here because I had no other way to contact you. I just wanted to tell you that I thought you were the most beautiful girl I've ever seen since I met you last summer. But I never got the chance to tell you before we left that year... I thought you should know and this was the only way to tell you. I have a myspace and facebook in case you wanna see who wrote this comment just search for Nick Williams from Wilmington or Raleigh, NC. 919.915.2341 in case you wanna talk with a reader of your book =) Thanks for your time. I can't wait to start your book.
